There are many places on this earth that we can visit or retreat to in order to find inner peace and be close to nature. Little spots of paradise that make us feel whole where we can shut out the noise of the outside world, breathe and be at one with the beauty of our surroundings. For me, this exists in the wilds of South Armagh beneath the majestic shadow of Slieve Gullion in an unparalleled haven called Bluebell Lane Glamping in Mullaghbawn.
On Sunday 5th November I attended a wonderful event here where the focus was on ancestral healing. This was organised by the amazing Andrea Givan who is a master at all she creates and provides. A gorgeously immersive and interactive day where connections were made and an inner journey navigated from a glorious backdrop.
This venue has everything you could want - an unspoilt and picturesque landscape, first class accommodation with a cottage and uniquely styled pods, a spacious kitchen and well maintained amenities. There are also outdoor gathering areas that can be employed for activities and music and entertainment around an open fire.
If you would like to partake in crafts you can do woodturning on site and there are always other classes on offer where you can busy your mind whilst absorbing yourself in ‘the great outdoors’.
Additionally there is a round house which is set in the forest and I have been fortunate enough on several occasions to co-facilitate various workshops here and have attended many. If you are looking for inspiration, tranquility and a creative muse you won’t have to look further than this space with its log burner, fairy lights and ample room for a crowd. Its rustic charm and warmth are only rivalled by being surrounded at every vantage point by a volcanic mountain range where folklore and history are plentiful.
If you are addicted to your phone, however, you may prepare to go on a detox! There is no Wi-Fi and very little phone signal to be had and to be honest that adds to the experience for me as I know I won’t be interrupted!
“Children I’m facilitating in Bluebell today - so if you need any of the usual non urgent questions answered that you can’t seem to keep until I’m back in the house - ask someone else!”….bliss!!
One man had a vision and he and his wife have gone to great pains to provide a utopia that is rich in flora and fauna that encourages a natural habitat with a delightfully escapist feel.
This is not a an ad nor do I work for the Northern Ireland Tourist Board…(imagine!) I simply believe in sharing and honouring people and places that bring me joy!
Pádraig and Sharon Carragher thank you for all your hard work - I can’t wait for my next visit to your purposefully created slice of heaven.
Thank you so much Fionnuala for your kind and caring words. I hope you continue to embrace the positive energy from the Ring of Gullion and know that the door to Bluebell Lane is always open to you. 🙏🏻
